Lower Oceans is a recording studio where audio recordings are made in a timeless, classic setting. The studio is outfitted with vintage equipment, tape machines, and other classic studio gear. The aesthetic of the recordings made here have a haunting and otherworldly quality. The magical ritual of recording is taken seriously and treated with the utmost respect while still allowing for exploration and playfulness.

Tim Barr is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter with a diverse background and extensive experience in the music industry. He began his musical career as the bass player for Lana Del Rey in her early years, and went on to front the popular Brooklyn-based band Silverbird. After years working freelance in 2023 he made the decision to start his own recording studio, Lower Oceans Recording. 

With his unique blend of musical expertise and real-world experience, Tim has the  technical skill and creative intuition to bring your vision to life and create high-quality recordings that connect with audiences.
